|WE NEED YOUR HELP
We have a group of people fighting Merial
from killing our pets. It needs to be taken off
the market before we lose any more of our
four legged friends. If your pet has had side
effects from any Frontline Product recently or
long ago, please contact us by posting your
story on the contact us page or just send us
an email and we will answer you. Email
addresses are on About us Page.
My son and I have three cats, and yesterday gave them each a Frontline Plus
treatment. The older male, and the younger female had no reactions, however the
youngest one, Rascal, who was just under a year old, had a severe allergic
reaction within 10 minutes. His pupils became constricted, then diarrhea set in,
then loss of control of his hind quarters. We rushed him to the local 24 hour vet. I
knew he was in shock. The vet, however, did not administer epinephrine, and I
don't know why. She told us that she was 100% sure that Frontline Plus was not
the cause because she had contacted the Animal Poison Hotline and his
symptoms were not consistent. We were told he has some severe neurological
abnormalities and that he would need to be monitored and tested overnight, with
estimated fees of $1400 - $3400 for the recommended treatments/procedures. We
elected to take him home, with some oral antibiotics, thinking perhaps he had
contracted Bartonella (Cat Scratch Fever), because his visible symptoms were
very similar to those of our female cat who contracted that disease at about 3
months. She responded immediately to Amoxicillin. When we got him home we
notice blood in his stool, and around about 9 pm he passed away, just six hours
or so after the Frontline Plus treatment. We are absolutely shocked and terribly
saddened by his passing. I have known that pesticides are dangerous, and feel
terrible that we applied this product to our cats. I feel responsible somehow. I am
sharing my story here to join this forum of individuals who are preparing to
launch a class action suit against Merial. I think that our little Rascal's passing is
a real wake up call, these pesticides are lethally dangerous, and they need to be
removed from the market. What is absolutely frightening is that these products
are infiltrating the water and soil systems. I'm sorry if I've gone on too long here,
but I must say I'm very upset, angry, and down right sad.
I applied Costco-supplied frontline for cats treatments to my healthy 22 pound
Neutered male mix breed cat and within a day he became very lethargic, threw
up all his food and developed an inch and a half large bald spot where the
medicine was applied.....
Sarah D says:
I am currently abroad and my boyfriend gave our cat his frontline which we have
used on several occasions. This time he has had a severe reaction to it. He is
having respiratory problems amongst other things. My boyfriend washed it off
within 2 hours of applying it, when he noticed the change in him. It's been 48
hours, within that time he has been to the vets twice and received steroid and
Some cats are allergic to Frontline and Frontline Plus. If Kitty develops hives or a
rash after application, or if any sort of swelling is present, call your vet
immediately. In a worst-case scenario, an allergic cat can go into anaphylactic
shock and die if not treated at once.
Cats might lick the application site. The result could be heavy drooling, or
hypersalivation. If you suspect your cat has ingested Frontline, contact your
Serious reactions are usually neurological in nature. The affected cat appears
disoriented and might appear depressed or extremely nervous. Some cats might
experience seizures. Vomiting after a Frontline dosage is another reaction. If your
cat exhibits any of these reactions, call your veterinarian immediately.
